Greg's Space ...A word from the Pastor.

May 2013
Faithful IN the scriptures its used over 250 times. What does it mean?
Words which describe faithful are sureness, reliability, stability, continuance, reliable-ness, truth.
It describes those who live for God all their life, like Enoch who walked faithfully with God and then was taken straight to heaven without experiencing death.
It describes God’s consistency of character and action towards us despite our inconsistency towards him. It also describes how our relationships should be one to another, especially that of Husband and Wife.
With so much break down of the family and other key relationships in family and the work place it may be worth asking the question, am I a faithful person? Can people count on me to be true to my word? Jesus had a go at the Pharisees in Matt 23:23 and exposed their attention to tithing to fulfil law and their neglect of the better part of the law of Faithfulness. He said they should have been doing both.
Galatians 5:22 Paul says But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Don’t ask for more fruit of faithfulness ask the Father for more Holy Spirit in your life and the fruit will be amazing!

We have had some great teaching in recent times. But teaching is useless unless we put it into practice.
Most of us have probably heard enough teaching to last us the rest of our lives so let’s not waste it.
Ps Brian Medway brought some great encouragement for us to not just be believers but be true disciples. Then not just be Disciples but become disciple makers and then help those people become disciple makers, 2 Tim 2:2 principle. Wow what a challenge!
You see the world is full of click and like type people, but there are very few click and do. Jesus is really not interested in being liked but he is very interested in those whom will follow and do. Luke 14:27 Msg “Anyone who won’t shoulder his own cross and follow behind me can’t be my disciple.” …..What’s it going to be for you?.

March 2013
WE have entered the year with vision in our hearts and a clear purpose to welcome people to belong, to live a life that believes... and Help people become all that God purposes for them.
Our Church Camp for 2013 has been one of our biggest ever. Despite the flooding rains a great sense of belonging to a community of Faith was shared throughout our weekend. People shared their faith, their food and their fun. Over 7 people were Baptised, 6 from three families! It was a great witness to all the spectators of the love of God and the unity of His people.
Unity will be a key factor as we move into 2013. In Genesis 11 shows when people were unified they built great cities and a tower and when God saw it he said, “there is nothing impossible for these people”, so he scattered them. The problem was not their unity, the problem was in their unity they were building to create a name for them-selves, rather than honour the one in who’s image they had been created. Lets not make the same mistake, lets us work and love together in unity to extend the Kingdom of God on earth, not for our fame, but for His.
Let Jesus’ name be glorified in all we do so that we make Him famous and not ourselves.
God bless you church it’s a joy to enter our 7th year of ministry with you, looking forward to more.
Love Greg and Amanda.

February 2013
Well, it’s great to be back in the house amongst family.
The year has started with the usual back to school rush, and renewal of connect groups and ministries throughout the church.
I am confident we are going to have a great year. He has pre-purposed many awesome works for us to be involved in, all for His glory. My desire is that we renew our passion in him and look for every opportunity to make an impact for his name. Its important at this time of the year to look again at what has filled our vision. Are you looking and seeing Jesus “as he is” 1 John 3:2 or have you filled your life with idols and imitations of his image in this world. Look again, refocus, adjust your glasses, fill your vision with Jesus, the author and perfector of your faith. He will change your world, he will change your perspective on who is around you and how you can reach them for him.
Last year we saw many people come to know Jesus personally we need to believe we will see the same in 2013. But it will only happen if you open your eyes and believe that the harvest is ready.
Also there are plenty of new people at HCC make a new friend today!
Believing the best for you in 2013.
Loving you Greg and Amanda.
